Christmas 2007. Post brunch at San Jose’s Fairmont, the four of us crossed the street to visit Christmas in the Park. It was colder than expected and Rachael, who’d left her coat home, shivered. Bill gave her his jacket and we continued to admire the displays. We stopped at the Gingerbread House where Bill sat on the bench with Natalie, our three year old granddaughter. She asked if he was cold. He told her “very” and suggested she might snuggle up close to keep him warm. Natalie slid from the bench, took off her jacket and draped it over him.

We go every year and take a picture in front of the Carribbean frogs. Love this.
